Surf Tulsa ("we," "our," or "the App") is operated by Tulsa Surf Club. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile application and website at tulsasurfclub.com.

Information We Collect

Location Data

With your explicit permission, we access your device's location to show nearby surf spots and provide distance-based sorting. Your location data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties.

Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics to understand how our app is used. This collects anonymized usage data including page views, session duration, and general device information. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

Device Information

We may collect basic device information (device type, operating system version) for the purpose of ensuring app compatibility and improving performance. This data is not linked to your identity.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Surfers do not need an account to browse or request a surf sesh
• We only collect contact details when you request a surf sesh
• We do not collect card or bank credentials and do not process surf-sesh payments
• We do not sell personal data
• We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking

Third-Party Services

Our app integrates with the following third-party services to provide live data:

• USGS Water Services — live river flow and water temperature data
• Open-Meteo — weather forecasts and current conditions
• Google Analytics — anonymized usage analytics
• Local-selected payment services — payment links or account identifiers that listed surfers choose to share after a surf sesh is booked
• OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap — map tiles and geographic data

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain Local account information and surf-sesh request details only as reasonably needed to operate the feature, maintain records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. A Local can delete their account from the dashboard after canceling upcoming bookings. Other users may contact us to request access to or deletion of their booking information, subject to legal retention requirements.

You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device's settings. The app will continue to function without location access — you will simply need to browse spots manually.

Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.

Surf Seshes

When you request a surf sesh, we store your name, phone number, email, optional message, requested time, and the time you accepted the assumption-of-risk and liability release. We share those booking details with the selected independent local surfer so they can contact you. We do not collect or store card numbers.
